Joan Houck lives in Berryville, Virginia at the northern end of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. She currently devotes time to organizing children’s puppet programs and outreach ministries for children and teens.

She has a husband, three grown children, and three grandchildren. She lives on a cattle farm and often sees members of Jean-Claude’s family outside her window.

Joan has also written a book, The Little Blue-Eyed Girl, with Polly Beam as illustrator. It is the story of a little girl’s adventures on the farm and comes complete with a CD for reading, narrated by the well-respected Handley children’s librarian, Donna Hughes.
